The Dish

Paul outside The Dish at Parkes
Arrived in Forbes this afternoon, had a good trip from Dubbo, just 159 km's. On the way we called in and looked at the dish at Parkes, it was very impressive. Here it was 43.9 degrees at the Big4 caravan park, 10 degrees above average, a dry heat thank goodnes, it reminds us of Las Vegas.

Will have to check out what we will do tomorrow, whatever it is will have to be early to beat the heat.

Yesterday we visited the Dubbo goal, very easy to spend two hours there, it is in the centre of town. We had dinner at the bowls club and won $120 on keno so that was good.

Have booked to take the van across to Tasmania on the 21st February and back on the 21st March, we depart from Melbourne and both are day sailings, you leave at 9am and arrive at 6pm.

Dont know what happened to my first comment. I'll try again!!
Coota: We lived at 12 Inala Place (19 years) last time we saw it had been overtaken by gnomes etc!
Mum lived 1t 105 Hurley St - accross from Golf Course where Aaron spent much of his childhoold.
Mark grew up in a house his mum & dad built themselves some 56 odd years ago (even made the bricks themselves) at 129 Thompson St.
We got married at Catholic Church in Morris St in 1983 - Mark went right through Catholic School.
The Bradman Museum is in Adams Street (is the actual hospital where Don Bradman was born).
Bradman Walk is in Jubilee Park which is in Wallendoon Street. My brother is renting a house just up the road at 156 Wallendoon St. His metal works business is currently running out of a shed in Hovell St across from Albert Park, but has a block in industrial area (cnr Cowcumbla & Gundagai Rds) you can see frame of big shed that Aaron went and helped with a couple of weeks ago.
Probably too hot at present but Pioneer park is a good place to get a view over whole of town. It is on southern side as you leave Coota must after flour mill.
My first job was at Callan & Luff in Bourke Street (8 years) then went to Govt Office in Cooper St next to Police Station for next 8 years. My best friend Sas is still there (she is the one who came up and surprised me November 08 for weekend)
Both the kids were born at Coota Hospital - you could see my backyard from the maternity ward.
Hope this gives you a couple of things to look at and gives you an insight into our upbringings.
When you get to Albury, if you feel like a chat, my Dad would be more than happy. He lives at 548 Kemp St - Lavington which is on the northern side as you go into Albury. His phone number is 02 60257632, No pressure, just if you are at a loose end. His wife is in Dubbo at the moment trying to get her mum into a nursing home etc. He tells us the Commercial Club in town puts on a good feed and very reasonable. Love to you both. Leftathome Lynny (and Mark)
(Hope this one goes through this time!!!!)
